Listening Courses - 2008-2009 programme

A series of 6 courses based on Stavanger Symphony Orchestra's Main Series of the 2008/09 Season. 
Lecturer: Per Dahl.  Place: Auditorium at the Norwegian Institute of Recorded Sound, 19.30-21.30.

The courses are a cooperation between the Rogaland Music Council, the University of Stavanger's Institute for Music and Dance,  Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, and the Norwegian Institute of Recorded Sound. 

Concert Trips 2008-2009

In conjunction with the listening courses, the Rogaland Music Council will organize a concert trip to London, possibly around 24-27 October 2008 and another trip to a European music capital in April 2009.

Cultural Walk - Music, Dance and Drama

In cooperation with Stavanger Municipality, the Norwegian Institute of Recorded Sound participates in the Kulturvandring MDD (Cultural walk - Music, Dance and Drama) where cultural institutions gives presentations for pupils intending to apply to the Music, Dance, and Drama branches of study in Upper Secondary School. The lessons are given by Music Librarian Dag Trygve Henriksen. PowerPoint presentation

How to Capture the Sound, a Cultural Satchel Project

Lecture on Tristan und Isolde

Wednesday May 15th, 2008, 1930: In cooperation with Stavanger Symphony Orchestra an extended lecture on the opera Tristan und Isolde are held in the Auditorium of the Norwegian Institute of Recorded Sound. Speaker is Anthony Negus from the welsh National Opera. Read more (in Norwegian).

The target of the Concert Trip this Autumn is Copenhagen, most likely October 26th.-29th. 2007.

Concert Trip Spring 2008

We plan to arrange a concert trip to St. Petersburg in the Spring.

Norwegian Ear Training Conference

University faculty teaching ear training gathers for a three days conference in Stavanger at November 14th.-16th. 2007. The conference is hosted by the Institute of Music and Dance at the University of Stavanger, using the premises of the Norwegian Institute of recorded Sound as the venue for the conference. Norwegian Sound Archive Conference 2007

The Norwegian Institute of Recorded Sound hosts the The Norwegian Sound Archive Conference 2007 on October 24th. and 25th. 2007. Read details about the programme on The Norwegian Sound Archive Conference website.

A possibility to meet all the museums in Stavanger at the harbour (Vågen) from 11am to 3pm.
