Music librarian

Dag Trygve Henriksen has been employed as Music Librarian at The Norwegian Institute of Recorded Sound since August 2006 at part time, from March 2007 at full time.

He took his Bachelor degree in Library and Information Science at Oslo University College in 2005, specializing in the field of music librarianship. He has also a 4 year education in music, equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, from Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo (Conservatory department) where he studied in the period 1994-1998 with piano as main instrument.

He has formerly been employed as Pianist and Classroom Teacher of music in primary school as well as giving private lessons in piano. He has furthermore worked in the administration at Barratt Due Institute of Music, then a period as Librarian and Teacher of Music Theory and Piano at Atlanten Upper Secondary School in Kristiansund as well as being a freelance Accompanist and Music Critic. He has also worked as Librarian at Stavanger Public Library.

When it comes to volonteering, he has dedicated himself to the choir movement. He acted as Archivist of Choriosa in Oslo for a while, before serving as Leader of the Music Committee and as Archivist of Coro Misto at Nesodden by Oslo in the period 1997-2005.
